Works Perfect, Would Recommend

Installed this in a 2004 double cab with a Kenwood deck. The install was very simple overall, I took my time planning the wire routing. The most difficult part was figuring out how to run the wire from the tailgate to the reverse light for a power source to avoid pinching when closing the tailgate. Once I tied into the reverse power wire, the rest of the install was very simple and straightforward. The wire was long enough and I even had some extra slack that I coiled I’m the cab under the console. I would highly recommend this camera.

Excellent camera and perfect location

This camera is such a huge improvement over a license plate camera. Nice clear video and does not get washed out like a license plate camera. The position in the tailgate handle is also excellent and gives a clear view of the hitch for easy hooking up to a trailer or boat. Installed on a 2006 Tundra.

Better than I thought

I had been looking for a tailgate camera for over a year snd never found one. I settled on a license plate mount on my 04 Tundra. Well as anticipated I stepped on bumper and broke the camera as anticipated within two months. Months later I found this snd had installed by Rolling Soundz in Sacramento. The camera hooked up to my mirror monitor without a hiccup and performs excellent. I recommended Tailgatecamera to my installer snd my friends looking for a near factory Look for a back up camera

Good so far

I stumbled on this company while researching backup cameras for my 2006 Toyota tundra double cab. I ended up purchasing this unit because one of the bolt holes on my tailgate handle was broken anyway.
I finished installing today It all worked out ok I connected to a Kenwood receiver and it works great, changing the screen as soon as I put it in reverse. The camera has a good view and the picture is clear. I hope it holds up to the elements. I will update the post if anything else come up.
