Displays the Camera Image on the factory 5" or 8.4" Screen
The 180° CCD HD OEM Fit Dodge Ram Backup Camera is installed within the Tailgate Handle and the main camera cable is connected to the Interface Harness and is plugged into the rear of the factory 5" or 8.4" LCD Screen on the dashboard.
When the vehicle is placed in reverse, the factory LCD Screen will activate the CCD Backup Camera and display a crystal clear HD Image with parking grid lines.

Beginning with model years 2018 and above Dodge Ram are equipped with a new device called a security gateway module. The purpose of this module is to prevent CAN bus hacking over the 3G or LTE network. alongside OBD Genie uses this bypass to allow for the enabling of a feature. SOLD SEPARATELY CLICK HERE

I have a two part review…
1) The Camera Kit - The tailgate latch fits perfectly! I could not ask for anything different or even suggest an improvement. The wiring harness is top quality and was plenty long enough. The RCA was a perfect fit into the radio connector. The video quality is great! As you can see in my pic, the color and definition are awesome.
The only suggestions I would have would be A) make the grid lines wider to match the width of the truck. B) have the camera show a little bit wider view. And C) have the camera be able to adjust vertically. 1/3 of the view is of the RAM logo, the tailgate, and the bumper. (another model kit might have that feature, and if it does, I REALLY wish I would have gotten that one)
2) Customer Service/Support - I had to call for help with a wiring issue (caused by me). The gentleman was extremely helpful, professional, and kind. He made sure that I would receive everything I needed to fix my mistake and finish the install, and he shipped it out that day! In this day and age, customer service seems to have taken a backseat to profit. But not here! I highly recommend doing business here!
The system worked great once installed other than the actual camera comes out of the tailgate handle easily. The only reason for the rating is the instructions are not very good. Nothing about removing a significant radio harness to replace it with the 2 wire RCA cable. I figured this out by trial and error, but it would be simple to provide decent instructions with pictures especially online. The OBDGenie worked well once I had the correct model, so this kit would be great with a little help on the directions.

Great Camera
Relatively easy install - follow directions. I used the cigarette lighter circuit for the 12v acc power connection because it is switched. The directions don’t suggest what source to tap into. This saved me time and is close to the ignition. No issues so far with functionality. I wished that the reference lines indexed with the steering wheel turns, but that is not a deal breaker. I feel more confident backing up and not hitting things which is the point of the camera. Not bad for the price.
